I’m attending my first mystery convention as an author. Bouchercon 2014 Murder at the Beach takes place on November 13-16 in Long Beach. For anyone interested, I’m scheduled to be rushed up to the microphone on the 14th at the ‘Meet the New Authors Breakfast’ to pitch my book for exactly 50 seconds. I am thinking we get a horn blown in our face or something if we fail to shut up at the appropriate time. It sounds like fun!
On Saturday morning at 9 am, I’ll be taking part in an Author Focus Panel, where I’ll likely be talking about From the Ashes, the writing process, and answering questions. FROM THE ASHES will also be available to purchase in the convention book room at the Bookmax vendor.
I’ve gathered a load of nifty (I love that word) items for the silent auction, which will benefit local libraries and Writegirl. For those who asked, I checked, and it is possible to place a bid remotely. The bidder just has to have someone present at convention to bid over the phone and coordinate payment with charity.
